Friends of the Melrose Public Library, Inc., is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Melrose Public Library.

Our purpose is to:

raise awareness in our community of the many services, programs, resources, and materials that our library offers;

raise money to help support services, programs, resources, and materials that aren't covered in the city budget.



Friends of the Melrose Public Library Provide Full or Partial Funding for:

Summer reading programs for all ages;

Adult programs, including author appearances, workshops, and movies;

Children and teen programs, activities, events, and movies;
-
Free and reduced admission passes to areas museums and attractions;

OverDrive and other materials in new formats;
-
Expanded CD and DVD collections;
-
Mobile hot spots that library card holders can check out;
-
Equipment, including portable A/C to improve comfort in meeting rooms;

New furniture;
-
Seed money for "Quick Picks" book collection;
-
Seasonal decorations;
-
Emergency funding when necessary during difficult economic times.
